"In Your Face - Women in Longboarding."

I started this personal photo series because longboarding has rapidly become a big part of my life. Since women are underrepresented in basically every sport and longboarding is no different, I felt compelled to contribute more to the community. I want to focus on the ladies for this project and hopefully we can inspire more women to skate. I'm sure we all had people tell us we can't do certain things, because we are women, too old, too young, too weak, too fat, too skinny or whatever and at the end we prove them wrong with that "in your face" kind of attitude. Or as in longboarding where we have to prove that we can do tricks not only to other people but also to ourselves. A lot of times the struggle comes from within and its just the best feeling to tell yourself "in your face" when you finally landed that trick you thought was going to be impossible. That's the spirit of the project.

So the idea is to portray women from all around the world with two photos, one action shot on the board  and one simple portrait. I hope the portraits will show the riders from a different perspective than we're used to and show the emotion that drives them to do this.

This project is a longterm series and open to every skill level so if you know any badass women who would like to participate, send them my way.
